Following the acquisition of Hagen Bikes in April last year (read more here: [link]), our team immediately prioritized investigating reports of frame cracks in the front cargo area on some earlier Hagen Flagship bikes. Addressing this became our number one priority.
Here’s what we learned and what we’ve done:
- Scope of the Issue: The frame cracks were limited to a small number of early-production Hagen Flagship bikes (both non-electric and electric versions).
- Unaffected Models: Importantly, the Hagen Mini and Hagen XL models (both electric and non-electric) were never affected by this issue.
Based on our findings, we developed and implemented a reinforced frame design for the Hagen Flagship. This updated design includes:
- Increased Steel Thickness: The front cargo bay steel thickness has been increased by 33%.
- Reinforced Corners: Gussets have been added to strengthen all front cargo bay corners, ensuring they can withstand significant pressure and weight.
Support for Existing Owners: For owners of previous-generation Flagship bikes who have experienced this issue, we can provide reinforcement gussets to strengthen the frame. Please contact our support team for assistance.
For Prospective Buyers: If you’re considering a new Hagen Flagship, rest assured that the current models feature this updated, re-engineered frame designed for enhanced durability. If cargo capacity is a major factor, the Hagen XL offers significantly more space with the same smooth ride, and like the Mini, it was never impacted by this issue.
We sincerely apologize to any Flagship owner affected by this problem. We are fully committed to the quality and safety of our bikes and are dedicated to ensuring this will not happen again with Hagen Bikes.o make sure anything like this will never happen again with Hagen Bikes!
